Athanasios Vafeidis

Athanasios Vafeidis (born February 14, 1969 in Athens ) is a Greek geographer and university professor .

Scientific career

From 1986 to 1993 Athanasios Vafeidis studied at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and completed his studies with a " Master of Engineering " in civil and surveying engineering . From 1993 to 1994 he studied at the University of London at King's College , where he obtained his Masters in physical geography . He was a PhD student at King's College from 1996 to 2001 and received his PhD in physical geography in 1996 . In 2001 he was a PhD research fellow at the Flood Risk Research Center at Middlesex University . Athanasios Vafeidis has been visiting scholar at the University of Southampton and the University of the Aegean since 2004 . In 2008 he received a professorship for "Coastal Risk Management" at the Institute for Geography as part of the Cluster of Excellence "Future Ocean" at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel .
