Athuel Eduardo Velázquez , also Atuel Velásquez (born October 13, 1900 in Montevideo ; †?) Was a Uruguayan football coach . He was born to Eladio Velázquez and Matilde Alberti. Beyond that, however, there is hardly any biographical information about him.

He is mainly known for his work at Club Atlético Peñarol from Montevideo , which he coached five seasons in a row between 1935 and 1940. This is the longest uninterrupted tenure of a coach in the history of the club since the professionalization of the Primera División in 1932. During this period he was able to win four championship titles with the Aurinegros - but they also lost the game three times in a row the Copa Aldao .

In 1941 Velázquez moved to the first Paraguayan league for Club Cerro Porteño , whose first foreign coach he was. As in the previous two years, the team immediately secured the national championship with Velázquez. Between September 12, 1943 and December 23, 1944 he was then under contract with the Brazilian top club Fluminense FC . In 30 games, the team managed only ten wins under his leadership and ended the state championship of Rio de Janeiro in 1944 in a disappointing fourth place.
