The Atka Bank ( English ) is a bank in the Southern Ocean . It lies in front of the Ekström Ice Shelf on the Princess Martha Coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land at a depth of around 200 m.

It was named at the suggestion of the surveyor and glaciologist Heinrich Hinze from the Alfred Wegener Institute . It is named after the icebreaker USS Atka , which was used several times in the Antarctic for the United States Navy .
