The Atlantic-Indian South Polar Basin (also known as the West Indian South Polar Basin , English Atlantic-Indian Basin ) is a lake basin up to 5872 m deep at the interface of the South Atlantic and the southern Indian Ocean between the southern reaches of the South Atlantic Ridge with Bouvet Island and the Atlantic-Indian Ocean. Ridge in the north, the Kerguelen-Gaußberg Ridge in the east, the Antarctic in the south and the South Sandwich Islands in the west.

The designation of the lake basin has been recognized by the Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF) since July 1963 .
