The FK Atletas Kaunas is a Lithuanian football club from Kaunas . The young club plays in the 1 Lyga , the second Lithuanian league.
Club history
The association was founded in 2005. Most of the players are provided by the Lithuanian Sports Academy .
In 2009 the club received eligibility to play in the top Lithuanian league for the first time in its history after FBK Kaunas and Atlantas Klaipėda were denied the A-Lyga license. However, in 2010, after a tenth place, they were relegated to the second class 1 Lyga .
