history

The beginnings of the exhibitions in Bratislava go back to the 18th and 19th centuries. From 1921 to 1942 the Danube exhibitions ( Dunajské veľtrhy ) took place on the left bank of the Danube.

The history of the exhibition center continued in 1967 with the first exhibition at an international trade fair for chemical products. In the following decades the exhibition area was continuously expanded. The chemistry exhibition was initially held in the old town, more precisely in the park kultúry a oddychu (PKO). Due to the limited space on the original building, the city council decided in 1976 to build a new exhibition center on the right bank of the Danube. The first part of the site was completed in 1984 and apart from the chemical fair, the other exhibitions moved from the PĶO to the new site.

use

Incheba Expo is mainly used for events of the sporting, cultural and social type. Well-known exhibitions are, for example, the Coneco construction exhibition, the Autosalón Bratislava car exhibition, the Flóra plant exhibition in Bratislava and the Bibliotéka book exhibition. Concerts or tennis games can also be found here.

Others

The exhibition center company "Incheba as" has leased the Výstaviště Praha exhibition center on a long-term basis from the Prague City Council . As a result, events and exhibitions under the name "Incheba" take place in Prague.
