Atmospheric Environment is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published in 18 issues annually and published by Elsevier since 1967 . The editors-in-chief are C. K. Chan, H. B. Singh and A. Wiedensohler .
The journal publishes work that deals with air pollution of atmospheric importance. These include the release of pollutants in the form of gaseous substances or particles , chemical processes and physical effects on the atmosphere, as well as the effects of a changed atmosphere on human health , air quality, climate change and ecosystems . In addition to original research and review articles, a. also published special editions and supplement volumes .
The impact factor in 2016 was 3.629, the five-year impact factor was 3.948. In terms of the two-year Impact Factor, the journal was thus ranked 49th out of 229 scientific journals in the “ Environmental Sciences ” category and 16th out of 85 journals in the “ Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences ” category .
