atp edition - Automation Technology Practice is a German-language trade journal founded in 1959 with a focus on measurement technology , control technology , regulation technology , process control technology , information technology and human-machine communication . atp reports on the state of the art and draws a bridge from science to practice. It is aimed at technical managers, decision-makers and key experts at manufacturers and users, as well as scientists and students of automation technology.

atp edition is an organ of the GMA (VDI / VDE Society for Measurement and Automation Technology) and NAMUR (Association for Automation Technology in the Process Industry). The magazine is published by Deutsches Industrieverlag and appears monthly. It currently has about 100 pages.

Originally the magazine was called rtp - Regeltechnische Praxis . The title was changed to atp - Automation Technology Practice in 1985 in order to do justice to the now broader spectrum of content topics. In 2010 the magazine was renewed as part of a relaunch and has been operating as atp edition ever since . In 2012, this concept won the “ Fachmedium des Jahres 2012” award in the construction / production / industry category.
