Attila from Zamora
Attila von Zamora (* around 850 in Tarazona , † after 920 in Zamora ) was the first bishop of Zamora in northwestern Spain. He was canonized by Pope Urban II in 1095 . His feast day is October 5th.
Vita
The facts and even the legends about his life are rare. Probably born in Tarazona, he entered a Bededictine monastery near Valencia as a young man . Together with Froilán , who later became Bishop of León , and with the support of King Alfonso III. of Asturias (ruled 866–910), Attila founded several monasteries in northwest Spain. He was celebrated for his concern for the needy.
Adoration
Few churches are dedicated to Attila; the most important is in his hometown of Tarazona. Today his bones rest in the church of San Pedro y San Ildefonso in Zamora.

Medieval representations of the saint are unknown; a few later portraits show him in the bishop's robe.
