The Foreign Trade Association of North Rhine-Westphalia eV (AHV NRW) is a professional association based in Düsseldorf . The association is a cross-industry association of companies of all sizes that operate foreign trade and have their headquarters in North Rhine-Westphalia.
history
The association was founded on November 6, 1946 in Remscheid as an association of foreign trade companies in North Rhine-Westphalia and renamed the Foreign Trade Association of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1954 . In 1984 the Federal Association of Exporters of Iron and Metal Goods eV merged into the AHV NRW.
activity
The association advises and supports its members in foreign trade issues, safeguards their interests vis-à-vis third parties and participates in the opinion-forming and decision-making process on foreign trade policy bills at the state, federal and EU level.
The association advocates fair and free world trade, the promotion of development partnerships in developing and emerging countries, the simplification of bureaucratic requirements for foreign trade, accelerated foreign trade approval procedures, the dismantling of tariff and non-tariff trade barriers , the completion of the EU internal market as well as the freedom of establishment .
