Eduard Lintz

Eduard Lintz (born September 4, 1818 in Trier ; † August 24, 1878 ibid) was a German doctor, journalist, entrepreneur and politician.

Life

Lintz was born the son of a publisher and grew up in his hometown until 1826. From spring 1826 he attended the school of the Moravian Brethren in Neuwied and then the royal Prussian grammar school in Trier . After graduating from high school, he studied medicine at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität . In 1838 he was reciprocated in the Corps Palatia Bonn . When he was inactive , he moved to the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin . In 1841 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. He then settled in Saarburg around 1847 as a general practitioner . As a delegate from this city, he was a member of the preliminary parliament of the Frankfurt National Assembly in 1848 and a member of the City Council in Cologne in 1849 . In 1856 he moved to the United States in preparation for emigration . Back in Trier, he temporarily became editor of the Trierische Zeitung . However, for unknown reasons, he refrained from emigrating. In 1859 he took over the editor-in-chief of this newspaper. Although he remained editor-in-chief until his death, from 1864 he also ran a tobacco shop and wholesaler on the Trier Kornmarkt .

Trivia

Lintz's mother was Anna Johanna Grach. She was the heir and owner of the Wawerner Herrenberg winery , which has belonged to Günther Jauch since 2010 .
