Patrice Fuchs

Patrice Fuchs (born September 16, 1973 in Sweden ) is an Austrian journalist and author . From 2003 to 2004 she was chairwoman of the Austrian Students' Union .

Life

Fuchs was born in Sweden and came to Austria at the age of six. A year before graduation , she dropped out of school and then devoted herself to various art and cultural projects. At the age of 24, she passed the university entrance examination and began to study psychology . In 2007 she finished her studies. At the same time she studied photography at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . Fuchs lives in Vienna with her husband, two children and a foster child.

Career

Austrian student body

In 2001 she became the clerk for “Studying with Children” for the Austrian Students' Union and in 2003 she was elected its federal chairman. As chairwoman, she founded the “Art Ministry of the ÖH” in response to the abolition of the Art Ministry by the then federal government.

Blog portal

In 2010, she also founded the blog portal babylog.at , which was aimed at expecting parents. In October 2012, Babylog was renamed familierockt.com and between 2012 and 2016 also had its own print magazine called Familie rockt! , which appeared four times a year in Vienna . In 2014, the parenting talk family Rockt TV appeared on the Vienna city broadcaster W24 , moderated by Patrice Fuchs.

From 2006 she worked as a TV editor and program manager ( erLesen , What do you value? ) For ORF and as a DJ for play.fm.

Today she runs a media company called the Rockt Media family and produces documentaries for ORF and other television stations. Her focus is on "generation issues". Among other things, she produced the historical documentary Kampf der Frauen about the beginnings of the Austrian women's movement for ORF3 in 2016 and the three-part series Österreich Damals in 2017 , which deals with changes in fashion, nutrition and sexuality at the turn of the century.

In 2018 the documentary Sisi, Schratt and Sacher was broadcast on ORF3. It is about women at the turn of the century who try to achieve self-determination and influence in a socio-political environment that has not been emancipated.

Since February 2018, Fuchs has been a member of the executive board of Vida Flex, a union for one-person companies, which Fuchs helped initiate.
