The Auer von Herrenkirchen are an old, originally Bavarian noble family .

They are to be distinguished from numerous families of the same name but with different coats of arms and tribe , including the Prussian von Auer and the Austrian Auer von Welsbach .

history

The family has its name-giving family estate near Landshut and has become extinct in its home country with Lieutenant Philipp Auer von Herrenkirchen († 1860) in the male line . A Prussian line was granted the nobility in 1863 .

The shield is split in black and silver , on each side three rings set in stakes in mixed up tinctures. Red and white buffalo horns on the helmet with black and silver covers , on the outside of which there are three rings of opposite colors.
