Resurrection Church (Oberviechtach)

The Resurrection Church in Oberviechtach

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Resurrection by Munich architect Olaf Andreas Gulbransson , completed in 1964, is a modern church building in the Bavarian community of Oberviechtach .

The open tent architecture typical of Gulbransson buildings is also evident in this church building as well as the play with basic geometric shapes, the central arrangement of the altar, pulpit and baptismal font as well as the priest and congregation arranged in an open circle opposite. The tent symbolizes people's being guests on earth and at the same time is intended to remind of the monastery tent from the descriptions in the Old Testament.
