Church of the Resurrection (Speyer)
The Church of the Resurrection is for those Protestant parish of the Holy Spirit in Speyer built -South in 2001/02 Church .

The church was built to complement the existing community center at Am Rengraben 2 g, to which it is connected by a foyer made of exposed concrete elements .
The Sander.Hofrichter Architekten office created a rectangular structure on a square, smoothed concrete floor by placing a simple white flat roof on two rows of round exposed concrete supports and using semi- transparent profiled glass for the walls . With the light-flooded room, it deliberately sets itself apart from the grandeur of old churches, which the architects consider introverted. The designers chose light wood with red seat cushions for the seating. The altar and a wall set up behind the altar with a cross-shaped recess and the doors were made of light wood.
The construction costs of the 240 m² building were 440,000 euros.
The architects took part in the 9th Venice Architecture Biennale in 2004 with this project.
local community
The former parish of Speyer-Ost has been celebrating its services in the Heilig Geist community center since 1975. Since Pentecost 2002 the new church was put into operation as the Resurrection Church, the parish is named after its church.
