Resurrection Church (Stralsund)

The Church of the Resurrection Stralsund is a church building in Stralsund . It is located in the recently built prefabricated building district Grünhufe and is the church of the Evangelical Resurrection Community. It was converted to the Stralsund youth church.
history
The church building, a functional building with yellow clinker cladding, was built from 1990 to 1991 and consecrated on Palm Sunday of the year.
Interior
The foyer, youth room, entrance to the church service room and the community room are arranged around the atrium of the building.
The altar area in the church service room was designed by Friedrich Press and made of cast concrete with stainless steel. He shows the risen one among his disciples. The visible roof stalls made of pine wood contrast with the concrete of the altar group.
local community
The resurrection congregation today forms the Luther resurrection congregation together with the Luther congregation in the Tribseer Vorstadt . It has been part of the Stralsund Propstei in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany since 2012 . Before that she belonged to the Stralsund parish of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church .
The work of the youth church is scientifically supported by the Institute for Research into Evangelism and Community Development at the University of Greifswald .
A neighborhood center with a free shop was built in the parish hall in collaboration with the Stralsund District Deaconry . The project “Church in Transition - Neighborhood Center in the Church of the Resurrection. New center of life in Stralsund-Grünhufe ”, submitted by Kreisdiakonische Werk Stralsund eV, was awarded the 2012 Social City Prize on January 24, 2013 in Berlin as one of ten projects .
