Swear up
The Aufschwören is the filing of an oath of office and is a legal process in the Middle Ages .
Knights who wanted to be accepted into the so-called state parliament had to swear their origins. To do this, they had to have a knight seat suitable for the state assembly and name at least 16 ancestors.
