Elevator fitter

Elevator fitter is not a recognized training occupation, which means that this occupation cannot be acquired through training .

Mostly people from technical professions who have completed vocational training are trained. Thus, electricians , locksmiths and similar trained individuals preferred as assembly workers set for elevator companies, and as appropriate in several years part time trained to elevator mechanics. The job requires extensive knowledge and manual dexterity. Electrical engineering , electronics , electromechanics , machine technology , systems engineering and general mechanics are just a few of the skills mentioned that are applied in the practice of the profession. Knowledge of standards and legal regulations such as B. the elevator standard EN 81, ASV 96 etc. are necessary.

The occupation is divided into the following areas: "New system construction" (assembly of new elevator systems in new buildings), "Modernization" (partial renewal of already existing, mostly older elevators), "Troubleshooting" (troubleshooting of elevator systems in operation) and "Maintenance work" (regular inspection and cleaning and maintenance).

Elevator companies have the opportunity to train in recognized occupations such as mechatronics technician, system mechanic, electrical system fitter or electronics technician for industrial engineering, and to focus training on the areas of new system construction, modernization and maintenance of elevators.
