The Augsburger Aktienbank (AAB) is a medium-sized bank based in Augsburg and one of the oldest direct banks in Germany. The core business of the branchless bank is fund administration (investment fund portfolio management and processing) for asset managers and financial service providers . With over 300 connected sales organizations and a managed portfolio of almost 12.5 billion euros (3/2017), Augsburger Aktienbank is one of the largest securities banks in Bavaria. The number of customers has increased to over 400,000 in recent years.

history

The bank was founded in 1963 as a sales credit bank , later UTB credit bank , and in 1986 it was renamed Augsburger Aktienbank. Between 1997 and 2002 the bank operated under the name Allianz Vermögens-Bank as part of the Allianz Group . In 2002 the Augsburger Aktienbank was sold to LVM Versicherung .

In 2015 Augsburger Aktienbank AG took over Netbank . Both institutes merged on July 1, 2016, and Netbank has been continued as the AAB brand ever since .

The subsidiary AAB Leasing focuses on the leasing business for special goods. Another company, AAB Asset (founded in 2016), offers services for professional investors.

In March 2020, the press reported on a possible sale of Augsburger Aktienbank by LVM Versicherung. The bank is only moderately successful and has suffered losses for years.
