Aleksander August Czartoryski

Prince August Aleksander Czartoryski (* 1697 in Warsaw ; † 1782 ibid) was a Polish military man and member of the Czartorysk magnate family .

Together with his brother Michał Fryderyk Czartoryski , he was involved in the Polish reform movement and was the official chairman of the political party Familia . With this he succeeded after several failed constitutional drafts in the course of the free election of 1764 and under the influence of Catherine the Great, the establishment of Stanisław August Poniatowski as Polish king.

Ignacy Potocki is one of his political successors .
