August Bellert

August Bellert (born June 3, 1877 in Langenzenn , † February 25, 1951 in Nuremberg ) was a politician first of the SPD, later the USPD and the VKPD .

Bellert was a wood turner until 1908 . He was an official of the stick workers in the woodworkers' association in the village of Wald near Solingen . Then he was party secretary of the SPD in Solingen until 1917 , at times he was also chairman of the party in this city. In 1917 he joined the USPD. Until 1920 he was secretary for this party in Solingen. During the November Revolution , Bellert was a member of the executive committee of the workers 'and soldiers' council for the Solingen district . From 1919 to 1921 he was a member of the Prussian state constituent assembly . When the USPD split up, Bellert joined the VKPD. From 1920 he lived in Nuremberg.
