August Paetsch
August Ferdinand Paetsch ( January 9, 1817 in Berlin - December 14, 1884 in Moabit ) was a German stage actor and opera singer ( baritone ).
Life
Paetsch was a popular bon vivant and character actor . He was mainly engaged at the court theaters in Weimar and Coburg-Gotha, but also made guest appearances in ensembles, as their “star” he figured. Roles like: "Ringelstern" ("Bourgeois and Romantic"), "Baron Jacob" ("Ball zu Ellerbrunn"), "Cato von Eisen", "Cesar" ("He has to go to the country"), "Baron" ("Krisen ")," Doktor Wespe "," Bolz "(" journalists ") etc. were among his best roles. He was an artist of the old style, conscientious, dutiful, and with a great talent for characterization.
On August 28, 1850, he took part in the premiere of Lohengrin as the king's warrior.
He died on December 14, 1884 in Moabit near Berlin.
He was married to Auguste Netz .
