The company August Rüggeberg GmbH & Co. KG is a German tool manufacturer based in Marienheide that its products under the brand name horse markets and is among the top three providers of international tool industry.

history

In 1799, Johan Caspar Rüggeberg started manufacturing files and rasps in Rüggeberg . His son Johan Friedrich took over the hammer forge in the 19th century. In the course of industrialization, August Rüggeberg decided in 1897 to relocate the company to Marienheide in Oberberg. Together with his sons Alfred, Emil and Robert he founded the August Rüggeberg company.

Today the range includes around 8,500 tools for surface processing and for cutting materials. Around 1,950 employees (1,100 in Europe) work at eight production sites in Marienheide and Hermeskeil (Germany), Vitoria and Araia (Spain), Milwaukee (USA), Johannesburg (South Africa), St. Petersburg (Russia) and Changli (China) as well in 25 sales companies of the PFERD Group.
