August Rhomberg

August Rhomberg (born April 3, 1838 in Dornbirn ; † March 14, 1912 there ) was an Austrian accountant, authorized signatory and politician. From 1870 to 1871 he was a conservative member of the Austrian House of Representatives of the Reichsrat and at the same time member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

Life

Rhomberg completed his professional training in Switzerland, which he spent in St. Gallen and Basel . He then worked from 1858 to 1905 as an accountant and authorized signatory at Herrburger & Rhomberg. In 1858 he became the founder of the Orchestra of the Friends of Music, where he also worked as a conductor from 1859 to 1872. He was elected member of the Vorarlberg state parliament in 1870 and held a mandate as a member of the Dornbirn market. In 1870 the Vorarlberg state parliament also elected Rhomberg to the House of Representatives of the Reichsrat, where he was sworn in on September 15, 1870 and represented the cities and markets of Vorarlberg. He was a member of the House of Representatives for the entire 6th session, which lasted until August 10, 1871, and was a member of the Conservative parliamentary group. Rhomberg also left the state parliament in 1871, but was subsequently a member of the Dornbirn municipal council from 1873 to 1882. Between 1900 and 1912 he also worked as a Dornbirn local school supervisor.

Private

Rhomberg was born the son of the merchant and mayor Franz Martin Rhomberg (1802–1868) and his wife Maria Ursula (1801–1884), whereby his parents were also born and died in Dornbirn. August Rhomberg married on May 9, 1864 in Dornbirn Maria Klara Emma Rhomberg (1842–1914), who also saw the light of day in Dornbirn. The couple had eight children together, with seven daughters and one son born between 1865 and 1883.
