August Wilhelm of Gemmingen

August Wilhelm von Gemmingen (born August 18, 1738 ; † 1795 in Stuttgart ) was Chamberlain of the Duke of Württemberg, Knight of the Order of Charles and Council of Knights of the Kraichgau knight canton .

Life

He was the son of the Baden-Durlach Chamberlain and Obervogts in Durlach , Franz Reinhard von Gemmingen (1692–1751), and Sophie Helene von Pretlack (1701–1781). He came to the Württemberg court in Stuttgart as a page and then entered the Württemberg military, where he became a colonel and adjutant of the duke's wing . Later he was chamberlain to the duke. He was also a knight of the Charles Order and a councilor in the knightly canton of Kraichgau.

family

He was married to Philippine Margaretha von Holtz (1728–1784). After her death, he married the much younger Charlotta Franziska von Gemmingen-Fürfeld (1770-1814), daughter of Johann Dietrich von Gemmingen-Fürfeld and Friederike von Bönninghausen.
