August Karl Franz Johann von Gemmingen

August Karl Franz Johann von Gemmingen (born February 22, 1792 in Stuttgart , † May 4, 1870 in Baden-Baden ) was chamberlain to the Margravine Amalie von Baden .

Life

He was the son of August Wilhelm von Gemmingen (1738–1795) and Charlotta Franziska von Gemmingen-Guttenberg (1770–1814). He was educated in Stuttgart and studied law in Tübingen and Heidelberg . In Tübingen he became a member of the Corps Suevia Tübingen . In 1814 he was a lieutenant in the Baden voluntary hunter regiment. Later he became secretary of the legation and finally chamberlain to the widowed Margravine Amalie von Baden until her death in 1832. Afterwards von Gemmingen lived in Baden-Baden. He and his wife are buried in Gemmingen .

He was married to Amalia von Gemmingen-Hornberg (1801-1865), daughter of the composer and knight director Ernst von Gemmingen-Hornberg and Henriette von Holle.
