Auguste Bouge

Auguste Bouge (born June 23, 1853 in Marseille , † January 8, 1931 in Les Tourrettes, Département Var ) was a French politician and lawyer. From 1889 to 1898 and from 1910 to 1919 he was a member of the National Assembly .

After graduating from high school in Marseille, Auguste Bouge studied law in Aix-en-Provence . After completing his studies, he first worked as a lawyer in Marseille. Bouge joined the Parti radical-socialiste and was elected to an arrondissement council in 1881 . In the following year, however, he could not win a seat in the local elections, whereupon he resigned from his previous office. In 1884 he made the leap into the city parliament, in 1886 he was promoted to deputy mayor. In 1889 Bouge ran successfully for the National Assembly, in 1893 he was re-elected. After being voted out of office in 1898, he was able to enter parliament again in 1910. When he left parliament in 1919, he retired to the hamlet of Les Tourettes. Bouge died there on January 8, 1931.
