Auguste Diacono ( 1863 in Berlin - 1945 ) was a German theater actress .

Life

In May 1877, when her father, a senior post office clerk, was transferred to Lorraine , first in Berlin, then in Alsen , Diacono had the opportunity to recite a poem of homage during a trip by the German emperor through the country :

Welcome, great emperor, to our old city,
where emperor Charlemagne once stayed.
As now after many years one may proudly boast,
So after over a thousand one will extol this day.
That was a day of joy, full of shine and sunshine.
The German Kaiser Wilhelm moved in with us at that time.
The great Hohenzoller, the brave hero in the fight,
In peace the founder of Germany's golden age.
Just as the emperor was never loved a prince,
His fame runs through all times, through all hearts.

Since then she has practiced declamation continuously . It became aware of her talent and her aunt Auguste von Bärndorf came to Diedenhofen and decided to take her in and give her acting lessons.

Trained in this way, she made her debut in November 1879 as "Leonie" in the women's war , as "Marianne" in the siblings and "Annaliese" in the drama of the same name at the Dresden Court Theater as a guest. A firm contract followed. From that time on she worked in Dresden without interruption until 1929. In that year she retired after having been on the Dresden stage for 50 years.
