Augusto Michelotti

Augusto Michelotti (born October 14, 1950 in San Marino ) is a politician from San Marino and since December 2016 Minister of Tourism and Territory.

Michelotti worked as a CAD technical expert at Ufficio Progettazione , a department of the Ministry of Territory and Environment. He is now retired.

He was a member of the Partito Progressista Democratico Sammarinese (PPDS) and ran in the parliamentary elections in 1998 on the list of PPDS - IM - CD , but failed to make it into parliament. In the 2001 elections he stood for the newly founded Partito dei Democratici (PdD), to which the PPDS had joined forces with other parties, but did not enter parliament again. In the 2006 parliamentary elections, he entered the parliament via the list of the Sinistra Unita (SU) as a replacement for the ministers of the SU who were leaving parliament. In the 2008 election, he was ranked 6th on the list of SUs that won 5 seats. In the parliamentary elections in 2012, he moved back into parliament for the SU. He became a member of the Health Committee (Commissione Consiliare Permanente Igiene e Sanità, Previdenza e Sicurezza Sociale, Politiche Sociali, Sport, Territorio, Ambiente e Agricoltura) and San Marino's delegate to the Interparliamentary Union . In January 2016 he became a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe . For the 2016 parliamentary elections, the SU joined forces with other groups to form the Sinistra Socialista Democratica (SSD), which together with Repubblica Futura (RF) and Civico 10 10 (C10) entered the adesso.sm coalition . In the runoff election on December 4th, adesso.sm won an absolute majority. Michelotti was elected to parliament, the Consiglio Grande e Generale . On December 27th he was elected Minister of Territory and Tourism (Segretario di Stato al Territorio e Ambiente, Agricoltura, Turismo, Protezione Civile, Rapporti con l'AASLP, Politiche Giovanili) .

Michelotti is the chairman of the San Marino Mycological Society (Associazione Micologica Sammarinese) and lives in Murata .
