Game flow

Players collect legions that are on cards in their display. They try to control provinces and people with symbols on tiles. If a player manages this, he shouts “Ave Caesar” and receives a certain number of victory points.

Characterization of the game

The game material consists largely of cards, supplemented with tiles and worker figures. The playing time is comparatively short and the scope of the rules is small, so that it can be classified as a family game. The game principle has slight influences from the game of bingo, but extends the principle through tactical decision-making options.

Reviews

“Augustus cleverly enriches bingo, known as the lottery, with tactical elements and thus takes an almost 100 year old principle to a new level with more game depth. Despite the additional rules, the game retains the ease and amusement of its model. Even more: Augustus captivates the players because they always look together expectantly towards the next tile pulled out of the bag - that guarantees excitement for everyone until the end. "
