AuktYon ( Russian АукцЫон ) is a band from Russia. The core of the group came together in Leningrad ( Saint Petersburg ) in the early 1980s . The band's founding date is May 14, 1983, when AuktYon was accepted into the Leningrad rock club .

The central personality of the band is the singer and guitarist Leonid Fjodorow , born in St. Petersburg in 1963 , who has also performed repeatedly with solo projects.

The organizers of the Ski Festival , which was a guest in Berlin in 2003, described the style of the group as follows: “AuktYon can be musically influenced from many directions such as ska, reggae, jazz, ethno sounds from Africa and Asia, but also pop music from the 1960s . In the 1980s, AuktYon performed at festivals across the Soviet Union. The group has also been touring Europe and the USA regularly since the 1990s. AuktYon has often given concerts in Germany too.

Although the band is well known in Russia, they refuse to be commercialized. The newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets wrote of them: “They don't care what the press reports about them or what the greats of show business think of them. They don't care about the hot festivals and on the last few albums there wasn't a single song that was played on the radio. And yet: AuktYon has the reputation of being the only really big band in Russia with many. "
