Letter from the credit agency: Request for Aryan proof

The Henri Kramer credit agency was a privately owned company for the purpose of collecting and providing data on companies and private individuals. It was founded in Hamburg in 1931 and worked with both authorities and organizations of the NSDAP .

In keeping with the National Socialist racial idea , she specialized in finding those businesses and firms in which supposedly Jewish influence was decisive. It therefore called itself "The first and oldest Völkisch credit agency in the Reich" with worldwide business relationships. In her letters she advertised "Germans, buy from Germans."

From the " seizure of power " by Adolf Hitler on January 30, 1933, especially after the Enabling Act was passed on March 24, 1933, this was important when awarding state contracts. After the Nuremberg Laws came into force in September 1935, the credit agency expanded its research to include private individuals and requested, on behalf of its (anonymous) client, by setting a deadline of one week, to provide the Aryan evidence by submitting documents .
