Taubenberg observation tower (Nettetal)

The Taubenberg observation tower, at a height of 81 m, is a timber frame construction on the Taubenberg of the Hinsbecker heights near Hinsbeck in Nettetal . It was built in 1970 and was originally 15.8 meters high. Because of its poor structural condition, it was closed from the mid-1990s. In 2005 it was renovated. It was also increased so that its current height is 28.8 meters. From a height of 15.80 meters, a steel spiral staircase leads to the new viewing platform. From the tower are u. a. to see the Krickenbeck lakes and Krickenbeck Castle ; it offers a good view of the Rhine and Maas valleys. The Vierlinden youth hostel is located near the tower (parking spaces opposite the youth hostel).
