Oyster sauce (seasoning sauce)
Oyster sauce is a dark brown, thick, spicy sauce used in Asian cuisine. Originally made from oysters fermented in salt water , today it usually consists of a mixture of oyster extract and soy sauce that was previously boiled down with salt , garlic and onions . It is with cornmeal thickened and with the dye a E 150 (caramel) colored, as flavor enhancers is E 621 (glutamate) was added.
