The Austin Wranglers were an arena football team from Austin, Texas that played in the Arena Football League (AFL) and later one season in af2 . The Wranglers played their home games at the Frank Erwin Center .

history

The Wranglers started for the 2004 season in the AFL, in which they completed four seasons. For the 2008 season they switched to af2 for one season.

In their history, the Wranglers should only make the playoffs twice. 2006 you failed in the first round at the Philadelphia Storm with 35:52. In the af2 season 2008, the Wranglers were also subject to the Spokane Shock in the first round. Their worst season they completed in the 2007 season, when they won only four wins from 16 games.

The Wranglers had massive money problems at the end of the season and could therefore not complete any further seasons in the AFL. That was also the reason to dare to restart the less expensive af2.

In 2006, former NFL star Deion Sanders joined the Wranglers as co-owner.
