The Philadelphia Soul are an arena football team from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania currently playing in the Arena Football League (AFL). The Soul play their home games at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

history

The Soul were founded in 2004. It is owned by a number of business people, including Ron Jaworski , a former NFL quarterback and television expert for ESPN. From 2008 to 2010, the Soul suspended two seasons from the AFL. It was not until the 2011 season that they joined the league again.

The Souls have won the ArenaBowl twice in their history . The last time they did this was in 2016.

The 2017 season went optimally for Philadelphia: After playing 10 games, the Soul won all games and were at the top of the Arena Football League (AFL) table with 10 wins and 0 losses. The last home game on June 17, 2017 was won with 62:41 against the Tampa Bay Storm in front of over 9,000 spectators.

Stadion

Philadelphia plays, with a few brief exceptions, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia and seats over 17,000 spectators. They share the stadium with the Philadelphia Flyers ice hockey team of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Philadelphia 76ers basketball team of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
