The Baltimore Brigade are an arena football team from Baltimore in the American state of Maryland , which currently plays in the Arena Football League (AFL). The Brigades play their home games at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore.
history
The brigades were formed in 2017. Founders and owners are Monumental Sports & Entertainment Group , an entertainment company from Washington, DC . The company owns various sports clubs such as the Washington Wizards , Washington Capitals and AFL competitor of the Brigades, the Washington Valor . They also have various arenas such as the Verizon Center , EagleBank Arena and the Kettler Capitals Iceplex.
The first season
The first home game on May 7, 2017 was lost 55:62 against the Tampa Bay Storm . At that time, 5,915 spectators followed the game. The 2017 season got off to a mediocre start for the Baltimore Brigades. In the five-team Arena Football League, after nine games, with 3 wins and 6 losses, they ranked 3rd. On June 23, 2017, they won against the Washington Valor 51:41. This victory is the highest in the club's history so far. Baltimore ended the season with 4 wins and 10 losses and reached the playoffs in fourth place. Only the Washington Valors missed the playoffs. In the semi-finals of the playoffs they lost to the eventual ArenaBowl winner, the Philadelphia Souls , with 54:69.
