Australian Peace Party

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Australian Peace Party is an Australian party founded by the controversial Islamic cleric Taj El-Din Hilaly to advance Muslim interests. It is emphasized that members of other religions are not excluded from the party. The party is supported by the political committee of the "Muslim community elders", an association that was also founded by Hilaly. The motto of the party is "With you, by you and for you!"

history

Originally a party manifesto was drawn up in 2001 and thousands of membership applications were printed, but this was lost due to the events of September 11th . In early 2007, Hilaly announced that he would officially register the party with several thousand members at the end of the year.

External presentation

The party is accused of hypocrisy by its opponents. On the one hand, the party presents itself as a non-profit and international understanding, on the other hand, Hilaly, as party leader, always ensures that there is a need for discussion. Former opposition leader Kevin Rudd was quoted as saying: "Australians will never choose a man who humiliates women, defends gang rapists and, once in the Middle East, denounces Australia and Australians." Former Australian Prime Minister John Howard said: "It is unwise because it gives the impression that Australian Muslims are opposed to integration." .

Political orientation

According to its own statement, the Australian Peace Party aims to support all actions that bring peace, security and harmony to all people in the world. In Australia she wants to work seriously with all the other parties with the aim of achieving general improvement in the country.
