Australia Express (original title: Five Mile Creek ) is an Australian western series , of which three seasons were created between 1983 and 1985. It is based on the bestselling novel The Cherokee Trail by Louis L'Amour. The series was produced by the Walt Disney Company .

Australia at the pioneering days in the mid-19th century: Numerous adventurers settled here during the gold rush . The land is wild and full of bush robbers. Nevertheless, the American Con Madigan and the Australian "Gentleman Jack" Taylor want to build a stagecoach line from the coastal town of Port Nelson to Wiga. One of her allies is Kate Wallace, who runs a stopover in Five Mile Creek. In the American Maggie Scott, who is stranded with her daughter Hannah in Five Mile Creek, Kate finds a friend and helper. Together they fight financial difficulties and other obstacles in the country to get the Australian Express rolling.
