Peter James Carroll

Peter James Carroll (born January 8, 1953 ) is an occultist , author and co-founder of the Illuminati of Thanateros .

Life

Carroll studied science at one of the colleges of the University of London. After the university Carroll was employed as a school teacher and spent four years in India and the Himalayas.

Career

Carroll's book Liber Null & Psychonaut , published in 1987, is considered one of the formative works of the chaos-magic movement.

In 1995, Carroll announced that he would like to step down from the "Role of Magus and Pontiff of Chaos". This statement was also made at the international IOT meeting, which Carroll discussed in an article titled "The Ice War" in Chaos International, an eight-part magazine devoted to the study and practice of Chaos Magic.

Carroll writes columns for Chaos International magazine, currently edited by Ian Read. In 2005, at the request of Robert Anton Wilson, he appeared as a Chaos Magic teacher at Maybe Logic Academy and later co-founded the Arcanorium Occult College with other well-known Chaos magicians including Lionel Snell , Ian Read and Jaq D. Hawkins . This experience rekindled his interest in the subject of magic.
