Emigration advice

As emigrants advice or emigration consultancy in Germany are various forms of consultation with a view to emigration referred. Advising foreigners who want to return to their home country is usually referred to as return counseling . In Germany, advice to emigrants is restricted by the Emigration Protection Act.

More generally speaking in counseling related to migration or foreign affairs also of migration consulting and international consulting .

Advice for emigrants in Germany

According to Section 1 of the Austrian Foreign Protection Act in the version dated March 12, 2013, anyone who “wants to provide business-related information about the prospects of emigration and the living conditions in the country of immigration, in particular about the work and settlement conditions abroad or advice on these matters, requires permission the competent authority ”(§ 1 Abs. 1 AuswSG). Pursuant to Section 3, Paragraph 1 of the Austrian Social Security Act, the Federal Administration Office is responsible for the implementation of the law and the ordinances issued on the basis of this law .

The Federal Office of Administration is responsible for managing the permits issued.

In Germany there are private advice centers and advice centers run by charities. The non-profit association Raphaelswerk advises z. B. nationwide emigrants and foreign workers.

In contrast to the advice centers of the welfare associations, private advice centers or their advisors generally also have a permit and qualification issued by the target country.

Advice for emigrants in other countries

Canada, Australia and New Zealand require that only qualified agents can give advice on emigration in their respective countries. The respective competent supervisory authorities are:

  • Canada: ICCRC - Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council.
  • Australia: OMARA - Office of the Migration Agent Registration Authority.
  • New Zealand: IAA - Immigration Advisers Authority.

The supervisory authority responsible in the respective country monitors the work of the licensed agents and ensures through regular training and other requirements that the agents act in the interests of your customers.
