Advice for emigrants in Germany is regulated by the Emigration Protection Act (AuswSG) of March 26, 1975.
This law says: Anyone who wants to give advice on the prospects of emigration and the living conditions in the country of immigration [...] on a business basis requires the permission of the competent authority.
Furthermore, the Emigration Protection Act prohibits advertising , the payment of premiums and the granting of subsidies for travel expenses in the context of an emigration. Mobility grants within the European member states are excluded.
With this law , the state assumes a protective function for its citizens. Emigrants should not be advised out of commercial self-interest, but should have access to the most objective and comprehensive information possible. The advice should prevent you from taking the step abroad without thinking about it. Emigrants and people working abroad have the opportunity not only to contact the Employment Agency and the German pension insurance for information, but also to non-profit advice centers for emigrants.
