The Autobus AG Liestal (AAGL) is a Swiss bus company in the canton of Basel-Country , located in Liestal .
History (milestones)
In 1905 the automobile company Liestal-Reigoldswil AG was founded and the first licensed bus line in Switzerland between Liestal and Reigoldswil was put into operation. In 1956 the gondola lift from Reigoldswil to the Wasserfallen ( Wasserfallenbahn ), built by the AAGL, was opened; the train was given away in 1994 to an independent foundation. In 1975/1976 the regional traffic in Liestal (and agglomeration) and Rheinfelden was finally put into operation. In 1986 AAGL joined the Northwestern Switzerland Tariff Association as a founding member .
Public transport
General
The AAGL operates some trans-regional lines. It also ensures public transport in and around Liestal , where it handles most of the local public transport, supplemented by the Waldenburgerbahn and a post bus line . The line network is over 100 km.
Timetable
With the exception of lines 71 and 83, the AAGL offers every half hour on its lines (in the evening and on Sundays sometimes every hour). At rush hours, the cycle is more compact on some lines.
Total length of the Auto Bus AG network
Auto Bus AG's public transport network comprises ten lines that connect Reigoldswil with Basel or Büren with Kaiseraugst. They run from Liestal or Pratteln to the surrounding communities and take passengers to school, work, shopping and leisure activities.
