Automatically Tuned Linear Algebra Software ( ATLAS ) is a subprogram library for linear algebra .

ATLAS is an open-source - implementation of basic linear algebra subprograms (BLAS) and parts of LAPACK for C and Fortran . It runs on most Unix-like operating systems (such as Linux ) and, with restrictions, on Windows .

ATLAS is used by the following software , among others : Maple , Matlab , Mathematica and GNU Octave .
