Autumn Leaves was a Danish melodic death metal band from Ribe .

Band history

The band was founded in 1992 as "Decrial" and recorded the demo Desires Unfold under the name . Finally, the second demo Hope Springs Eternal was produced as Autumn Leaves and with a permanent cast . This was followed by a record deal with Serious Entertainment and two years later the debut album Embraced by the Absolute . The second album, As Night Conquers Day , was released in 1999. Autumn Leaves split in 2001, Flemming C. Lund became guitarist for Invocator , and together with Boris Tandrup he founded Scavenger , which was soon renamed The Arcane Order .

Style and reception

On the first album Embraced by the Absolute Autumn Leaves played quite brutal, technical Death Metal , which was a bit more melodic on the second CD. The texts deal with paganism . The All Music Guide emphasizes that Autumn Leaves describes typical topics with "insight that is unusual for the genre" ( Ed Rivadavia in the All Music Guide ). The band was able to expand its fame beyond Denmark to mainland Europe. They are often compared to typical Gothenburg metal bands .
