Auxiliary breathing (also called auxiliary breathing) refers to breathing with the help of the so-called auxiliary respiratory muscles , especially when there is severe shortness of breath . In particular:

These are also known as expirators and they work when you breathe out ( exhalation ) and help remove air from your lungs .
