history

The Avantis Group was founded in 2004. The company began with the development of an independent system concept. The following year the Guangxi Yinhe Avantis Wind Power Co. joint venture was established . In 2009 a prototype was built in Beihai , China, and the Hamburg subsidiary Avantis GmbH was opened. In 2010, series production finally began (approx. 400 turbines per year) after successful tests on the 2.5 MW system.

Plant types / technical data

The turbine developed by Avantis is currently (as of 2011) the world's largest directly driven turbine equipped with a permanent magnet generator that has passed the low-voltage ride-through test . The test shows that the turbine continues to operate even in the event of significant network disruptions and thus supports the network.
