Avelina Landin

Avelina Landín Rodríguez (born November 10, 1917 in Mexico City , † February 21, 1991 there ) was a Mexican singer.

Landín and her sister María Luisa founded the Duo Pirita y Jade in 1935 , which performed at celebrations and made their debut in 1936 on the XEYZ radio station. In 1938 they were signed by the broadcaster XEQ ( Radio Panamericana ) and first appeared as Dúo Mari-Lina , later as El Dúo de las Hermanas Landín alongside the duo Águila ( Esperanza and María de la Paz Águila Villalobos ). As a duo, they recorded titles such as A ti qué by Alberto Domínguez , A dónde irán by Rodolfo Mendiolea , Yo quiero la vida , Aquella noche , Si tú me pides and Háblame de amor by Gabriel Ruiz , Cariñito by Manuel Renteria , La Guía by Méndez Castillo , La noche, tú y yo by Rafael Hernández , Mi amor de ayer by Tamayo Ortega , Mi destino fue quererte and Mi único amor by Felipe Valdéz Leal , Mujercita castigada by Fernando Z. Maldonado , Pasional by Consuelo Velásquez , Pobre de mí by Agustín Lara , Tengo que sufrir by Claudio Estrada , Tengo un nuevo amor by Ernesto Lecuona and Yo no sé lo que me pasa by Fernando Mulens .

The collaboration with her sister ended when she married Ángel Zempoalteca Ortega in 1942 . From 1949 to 1965 she took part in numerous radio productions with Luis Ignacio Santibañez , including Inspiración and Éxitos musicales Choco Milk . It became known as La Voz que canta al corazón .
