The Avenida Cabildo is one of the main thoroughfares in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires . The name of the street is reminiscent of the Cabildo de Buenos Aires .

The Avenida Cabildo is about five kilometers long and runs from southeast to northwest. It is the extension of Avenida Santa Fe , begins in the Palermo district on Avenida Dorrego and ends at the city limits on Avenida General Paz , where it changes its name to Maipú and continues through the Partido de Vicente López. It crosses the districts of Colegiales , Belgrano , Núñez and Saavedra .

The avenue crosses the following major streets: Avenida Federico Lacroze , Avenida Juramento , Avenida Monroe , Avenida Congreso , Avenida García del Río , Avenida San Isidro Labrador and Avenida Ruiz Huidobro .

Buildings along the Avenida

In Palermo, the Avenida Cabildo first leads past the Ministro Carranza train station and the Plaza Miguel Abuelo. The General Savio Technical School is at number 15, and the Dirección General de Fabricaciones Militares at 65. At number 385 you will find the Instituto Geográfico Militar, next to it the church of Nuestra Señora de Luján. The Colegio Nuestra Señora de la Misericordia Belgrano is located in Belgrano. On the corner of Calle La Pampa is a small replica of the dome of the Chrysler Building in Manhattan . Next up is the Plaza Barrancas de Belgrano and the Belgrano C station of the Ferrocarril Miter . The avenue ends at Puente Saavedra of Avenida General Paz .
