The Avenida Marechal Gomes da Costa is a main thoroughfare in the north-eastern part of the city of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon . It leads from Cabo Ruivo in a north-westerly direction to Praça do Aeroporto at Portela Airport . For a large part of its course, it forms the border between the municipalities of Marvila and Olivais . It was named after the Portuguese general and Prime Minister Manuel Gomes da Costa (1863–1929).

The Avenida is part of a higher-level road system and was built as a derivative of the 2ª Circular . The arm branches off to the south-east at the airport and leads straight to Cabo Ruivo, where it bends south and merges into Rua Cintura do Porto de Lisboa . The crossing of the Avenida Infante D. Henrique has been free of crossings since the Túnel do Baptista Russo opened in December 2005.

The street was popularly called Avenida do Cabo Ruivo . At the suggestion of the Liga dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra and Carlos da Costa, the son of the honored, the street was by decree of the Câmara Municipal of Lisbon on May 27, 1966 after Marshal Manuel Gomes da Costa, from June 17 to July 9, 1926 Portuguese Prime Minister, named.

The street scene is characterized by industrial buildings, especially in the central and southern areas. The state television station RTP has its headquarters here, and the buildings of the Universidade Independente were also located here.
